PerthNow has published an article on the Green Skills Training Centre in East Perth, a West Australian Mechanical Services project boasting a 6-star green rating.
Made entirely from sustainable materials, it’s designed to operate without any power from the grid or water from the mains.
The $17 million Central Institute of Technology’s Green Skills Centre at East Perth will open tomorrow as the first public building in the state to secure a six-star green rating.
Its architecture, construction, landscaping and engineering has been designed on sustainability principles, including generating its own power and capturing and recycling water.
The facility is one of the first in WA constructed using five-dimensional “building information modelling” – the three spatial dimensions of width, height and depth as well as time and cost as the fourth and fifth dimensions.
